Our original detoxifying bath recipe has been so wildly successful we wanted to share a new recipe with you just in time for spring!
There are so many benefits to an anti-aging lemon & rosemary bath. The acidity and antioxidants found in lemons, pictured below via Hungry Little Girl, act as a natural exfoliant and can soften and brighten rough skin, lighten age spots and acne scars, and draw out toxins while the hot bath water works to unclog pores. Homeopathically, rosemary is believed to increase blood flow to the skin, making it appear firmer and more toned. In this bath recipe, we also add coconut oil to ensure your skin stays supple and moisturized. Afterwards, a lemon & rosemary detox bath should leave your mind and body feeling relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated!
Creating a luxurious, anti-aging lemon & rosemary bath is easy. All you need for this easy recipe is:
Slice two lemons and draw a bath as hot as you can stand it. If you have a larger bathtub or are an experienced detoxifier, you can add up to three lemons. Add the lemons or lemon juice, two sprigs of rosemary leaves, and two tablespoons of coconut oil to the bath water and let them stew for 60 seconds. Spend at least 20 minutes soaking in the mixture while drinking either a glass of ice cold water or warm herbal tea and be sure to continue drinking a lot of water throughout the rest of the day. You may submerge your face but since the acidity can dry out hair, do not soak your hair in the bathwater. Turn off your phone, dim the lights, and put on relaxing music for a truly spa-inspired experience, like these luxurious photographs via Nails Mag above and Pinterest below.
